Printmaking is both a process of making and printing matrices and a way of thinking about how images are reproduced, circulated and preserved. This guide follows Zhang Ju's specific works into Shanghai's art context and the cross-media possibilities of contemporary Chinese printmaking.

The archive identifies The Tower of Lenin and The Ark of Hare Kingdom as screenprints, Red Pig as a woodcut, Land, Left as an etching, and Dream Beast as a mixed-media print. Different materials shape how matrices, colour layers, impressions and image depth are produced.
Start with title, year and medium, then examine dimensions, edition information and the original source. An edition size describes the work's edition; assessing a specific impression also requires its number, signature and actual status. These archive fields remain available on the work detail pages.
Zhang Ju's Shanghai background intersects with experience in games, the internet, electronic music and studio practice. Dream Beast draws on imagery associated with the Classic of Mountains and Seas and natural-history illustration; New World brings landscapes, architecture and image combinations into evolving narrative spaces.
Matrices, colour separation and repeated printing draw attention to layers, rules and repetition. Zhang Ju carries related questions into recursive screens and collaborative work: CosmoChamber was co-created in 2021 by ZOOJOO, AMOTOR, TONG and GUXIANG, with technical support from Double Lab. The connection is methodological; the project record preserves specific credits.
